Following law school, Brenda came to Colorado Springs where she associated with a local firm doing primarily construction and real estate litigation, defending title, boundary, and adverse possession claims. She returned to Nebraska for several years and was in association with the firm of Douglas, Kelly, Ostdiek, Bartels & Neilan, and tried cases throughout the Panhandle, as well as participating in numerous appellate cases before the court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
Brenda returned to Colorado Springs in 2008 and joined Hanes & Schutz, LLC, the predecessor of Hanes & Bartels, where she is active in real estate, business estate, and domestic and commercial litigation in state and federal courts.
Brenda resides in Monument with her menagerie of animals and enjoys traveling, and hikes on the many area trails.
