Attorneys Brenda Bartels and Amber Blasingame Join National Law Firm, Messner Reeves LLP in Colorado Springs

In the spring of 2022, Denver-based national law firm Messner Reeves LLP expanded its Colorado Springs presence. Experienced attorneys Brenda Bartels and Amber Blasingame, formerly with the well-known firm of Hanes & Bartels (now closed) have joined Scott Hawranek in our Colorado Springs office. Messner Reeves also moved its office to the historic Boys Club building at 105 East Moreno Avenue.

Brenda  Bartels began her career as a construction law and real estate attorney in Colorado Springs in 1987 after graduating from the University of Nebraska College of Law (cum laude). Since then, thousands of clients in Colorado and Nebraska have trusted her legal skills and experience to guide them to a just resolution of their legal matters, including in the areas of:

Amber Blasingame

Amber Blasingame has worked in immigration law since 1995 and graduated from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law in 2010. She was involved in the DU asylum clinic and was honored with a scholastic excellence award in advanced immigration law. Ms. Blasingame worked as an immigration coordinator/manager and a managing paralegal before becoming an attorney in 2011. Before joining Messner Reeves, she was a senior immigration attorney at Hanes & Bartels, LLC.

Scott Hawranek

Scott Hawranek has been with Messner Reeves since the firm’s inception in Colorado Springs, focusing his practice on intellectual property litigation, protection, and development of his client’s most valuable technologies. In addition, Scott has a proven track record for winning patent, trademark, copyright, and other intellectual property disputes, including trade secret misappropriation and licensing disputes.

Before beginning his legal career, Scott worked as a research and development engineer. He previously practiced at his own intellectual property law firm, major international law firms in Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Colorado, and as in-house counsel for a global technology company. Scott also has experience working as a patent examiner for the USPTO.
